Letter from Jonathan (16th June 2021)

Dear LBC family,

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding

It says this in Proverbs 3:5-6 and it’s a timely reminder in all our ways to keep trusting the Lord, to celebrate his faithfulness and commit our ways to him.

I’m sure we’ve all heard the news that stage 4 of the governments reopening has now been postponed for 4 weeks until 19th July. The extension to the restrictions means we are still able to open on Sundays and will keep hosting a small congregation and streaming online. Prayer and Bible studies can now take place inside the church building and we hope groups will be making use of this over the coming weeks.

On a personal note whilst I fully understand the governments decision and it is only right that we pray that cases do come down and infections drop, it is saddening that we are unable to meet freely to share worship together.

Singing is still not allowable in services and mask wearing remains mandatory. As there are no further decisions to be made at this time, we won’t be putting in an additional church meeting but will hold a meeting as scheduled in July and will confirm the date and format in due course.

We are meeting as a leadership team this Thursday and will be looking to put together a summer programme for post July 15th enabling us to help to reconnect and share fellowship with each other.
Details will follow shortly.

Thank you so much for your continued support, and please do keep booking into church services, watching online and taking part in the various Zoom groups and prayer meetings.

Let’s remain committed to praying that this pandemic will lose its grip and our lives very soon will regain the freedoms we long for.

God bless,
Jonathan (on behalf of LBC Staff & Leadership teams)
