Rev Tom Cox appointed to be Lead Minister of Lymm Baptist Church

We’re delighted to announce that Revd. Tom Cox has accepted the call to become our new Lead Minister here at Lymm Baptist Church and will formally begin his ministry here on Monday September 1st 2025, with an expected Induction Service in the afternoon of Saturday September 13th 2025.

Tom, together with his wife Ellie and daughter Charlotte, has sensed a clear calling to join the LBC family following a thoughtful and prayerful discernment process. Over several visits, Tom engaged well with our church community through meetings, services, and conversations, leaving many with a strong sense of peace and unity about this next chapter of our journey as a church.

Tom brings significant experience and theological training, having studied at London School of Theology and Regent’s Park College, Oxford, and currently pursuing a Master of Ministry at Spurgeon’s College. Since 2017, he has served faithfully as Minister at Oadby Baptist Church in Leicester, where his leadership through the pandemic, commitment to discipleship, and heart for local mission have been greatly valued.

With a passion for biblical teaching, spiritual formation, and empowering others in ministry, Tom is committed to building a vibrant, Christ-centred community rooted in Scripture, shaped by prayer, and engaged in service to the wider world.

We are excited about the gifts Tom brings to LBC, including his strengths in preaching, teaching, strategic leadership, and digital ministry. His enthusiasm for developing our discipleship culture, strengthening community outreach, and refreshing our online presence reflects many aspects of our church’s vision.

Please pray for Tom, Ellie, and Charlotte (and for our LBC church family) as we prepare to welcome them later this year and step into this new season of mission and ministry together.
