As a church family we want to support and care for each other over what is a time of uncertainty, we do so trusting that God is with us. We heard on Sunday morning that ‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble’ Psalm 46:1.
Our decisions moving forward as a church will be based on 2 things:
- Advice given directly from the government
- The more practical working out of this advice for churches as given through the Baptist Union
We will update our information on a weekly basis or as advice changes (whichever comes first) and will email, post on our website and Facebook pages every Tuesday until further notice.
At present we will be doing the following:
- Observing good hygiene both personally and throughout the building through the usage of hand washing/hand sanitisers and making sure our building is kept clean
- If you feel unwell or someone in your household is unwell, please follow relevant government advice to stay at home
- Closing our kitchen; we will not be serving any food or drink made or prepared on the premises
- We will become a paper free church so won’t be handing out notice sheets or leaflets
- Live streaming part of our morning services from next Sunday so that those who are staying at home can feel part of our church family
- Most important of all, our pastoral care team will be adapting the ways we provide care to help ensure that everyone feels supported and not isolated. We are working through the possibilities and more information will follow very soon
At present we can continue our:
- Sunday services
- All of our youth and children’s ministries whilst schools remain open
- Prayer meetings and small group meetings
- Alpha, pioneering ministries and prayer meetings
- For church user groups, we are currently able to leave it up to your group and its leaders as whether to continue to meet
If your group isn’t listed here one of us from the leadership or staff teams will be in touch to chat this through with you over the next few days. If you’re not sure whether your group should currently meet, please contact Jonathan or Alison and they will happily discuss this with you and help you to decide. Thank you for your cooperation and our prayer is that God will be close and real to us at this difficult time.
God bless,
Jonathan (on behalf of LBC leadership team)
